Stone: Quartz crystals with Calcite on matrix
Weight: 204 g
Size: 6.9x10x6 cm
Treatment: None
Origin: Bulgaria (Madan)
Elongated, transparent quartz crystals are partially coated with cream-colored calcite, accompanied by translucent calcite rhombs resting on the natural matrix.
In normal light, the specimen presents a harmonious contrast between the clear quartz and the softer tones of the calcite. When exposed to short-wave (254 nm) and long-wave (365 nm) UV light, the specimen reveals a distinct red fluorescence, creating a striking and almost atmospheric visual effect that transforms the overall appearance and highlights details otherwise unseen.
In esoteric and mineral-collecting traditions, quartz is commonly regarded as a symbol of clarity and amplification, while calcite is often associated with balance, mental organization, and the easing of transitions.
